Tumarkin Igael (b. 1933, Germany) Painter, sculptor, an art theoretician and stage designer. Studied with Rudi Lehmann, Ein-Hod and with Bertolt Brecht, Berliner Ensemble, Berlin. His best known works are the Holocaust and Revival memorial in Rabin Square, Tel Aviv and his sculptures commemorating fallen soldiers in the Negev. Recipient of many awards, including the 1985 Dizengoff Prize for Sculpture and the 2004 Israel Prize for sculpture.
