Appelfeld Meir (b. 1965, Israel) Meir Appelfeld was born in Jerusalem. His father is the author Aharon Appelfeld. He studied music and violin at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance high school in Jerusalem. In 1979, he illustrated his father’s novella “Badenheim 1939.” After serving in the Israeli army, he decided to go into art. In the 1990s, he studied painting in London. In 1997, after the death of his wife, he returned to Israel. He has illustrated several books, among them “It is Yet High Day” (2001) and “A Table for One” (2002) by Aharon Appelfeld. In 2011, he illustrated Dror Burstein’s children’s book “My Cup of Tea.” He lives and works in Jerusalem.
