Azoulay Shai (b. 1971, Israel) Azoulay was born in Kiryat Shmona. His family moved to Arad when he was a child. After his army service he traveled to the Far East, where he started to paint. He began his art studies at Bezalel in the second half of the 1990s. Azoulay lives and works in Jerusalem. In addition to figurative paintings incorporating biographical materials, sometimes adopting a naive style, Azoulay creates abstract works characterized by splashes of color on readymade backgrounds.
