Caffrey Yael (b. 1983, Israel) Lives and works in New York. Graduated with honors from “Hamidrasha” School of Art, Beit Berl Academic College. Participated in several group exhibitions in Israel. The figurative image is the essence of her artworks, usually produced using colored pencils on top of large-scale papers. Caffrey disassembles and reassembles her family portraits into admirable yet unsettling pieces. She uses the portraits as means for self-understanding, through which she portrays the cross-cultural space in which she lives.
