Rauchwerger Jan (b. 1942, Turkmenistan) Immigrated to Israel in 1972. Lives and works in Jaffa. Studied at the Graphic Design Department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute and with the Moscow-based artist Vladimir Weisberg. Held numerous solo exhibitions in Israel and abroad, including a retrospective exhibition at Israel Museum, Jerusalem in 2004. Recipient of many awards including the 1998 Meir Dizengoff Prize for Painting, Tel Aviv Municipality and the 2007 Rappaport Prize for an Established Israeli Artist, Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
